The Role of the IT System Support Technician 

Within WeVote, we support all of our initiatives with custom software as well as ~15 other software systems to support our mission. We’re looking for volunteers to help manage these systems and our volunteer users.  Our user base is approximately 200 volunteers.  The IT system support technicians will aid with giving our volunteers new accounts, resetting passwords, changing permissions and updating , as well as answering questions and administering our technical solutions.  

What You'll Accomplish

  • Technical support for volunteer user base, primarily using Slack and email 
  • Oversee and manage the organization's technology systems and infrastructure, performing administrative tasks as necessary 
  • Assist with developing and implementing IT policies and procedures to ensure business continuity and data security
  • Work with IT team members and technical leadership to ensure efficient and effective operation of the organization’s technical systems  
  • Recommend tools/systems to address organization’s challenges, staying up to date on technology advancements 
  • Monitor and maintain the organization's technology systems to ensure optimal performance

Your Background

  • 5+ years IT technical support experience, preferably in the social impact space 
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills 
  • Technical training experience, preferably with non-technical users 
  • Google workspace experience 
  • System implementation experience 
  • Onboarding/offboarding employee experience 

Essential Requirements

Availability: At least 5 hours each week during our core team hours M-F 9 a.m. - 6 p.m PST with the ability to work 1-2 hours during Pacific Time overlap. Must be available to attend the team meeting each week.
